About Dig It®

The inception of Dig It® began in 2008 at a family BBQ! Dig It® Co-Founders realized there was a need for women to protect their nails while being active and the concept of Dig It® Handwear was born. Armed with the vision to create a business around this concept, they began searching for functional and fashionable gardening/utility gloves that provided more protection for their nails.

With their love of being outdoors in nature, sports, and “do-it-yourself” projects, all things related to gardening was often dampened by the deterioration of their hands, fingers and manicures from these activities.

After searching worldwide, they researched what was available on the market and realized that there wasn’t a product available that addressed women's needs. Determined to provide women with the protection they need for their hands and manicures, Dig It® Handwear was designed as a glove more precisely suited to women.

The collaborative design process included industrial designers, glove manufacturers, nail technicians, DIY'ers, salon owners and of course... gardeners. They were able to marry their commitment to all things green and stylish by making a product and it's packaging from recycled materials.

In November 2009, Dig It® successfully presented their business on the CBC's "Dragons' Den" and made a deal with Dragon Kevin O'Leary.

Dig It® was nominated for the 2012 RBC's Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards in the "Best New Start Up" category. Over the course of their 5 years in business, Dig It® has created new brands and expanded product selections, sales and distribution channels.

Dig It® partners with people and companies with the same core values. To meet the growing demands of our consumers, distribution and retail partners, our production has expanded to include international partners.

Dig It® strives to provide quality products and excellent customer service all the while respecting the environment.

Dig It® Gives Back

Dig It® is proud to volunteer and support events and organizations across the globe. Deloitte's Habitat For Humanity - Build in Brazil was a rewarding project and great testing ground for Dig It®'s products.

Dig It® strongly believes in giving back to communities and supporting those who have allowed Dig It®  to grow and prosper. Co-Founder, Claudia Harvey, sits on the Board of Global Teen Wealth which empowers youth through entrepreneurship.
